Within the HD, HX and S36, S75, S35 postcode areas, we offer a no-obligation estimate visit free of charge. Outside of these areas we may request a small fee to cover fuel and travel time.
Where pricing hasnt been agreed prior for a set piece of work, or where emergency or fault-finding work is required, the following rates will be applied.
Travel time is not chargable under these rates if they are within the postcode areas mention above.
These prices assume just we turn up to do the job. If hired help, subcontractors or additional third-parties are involved, the pricing will reflect the number of bodies on site attending to the work. For large jobs such as rewires please contact us for a quote as these will be charged as either day rate or 'priced' jobs.
Rates are subject to change without notice. Always check this page for the current rate when booking new work.
The 'subsequent hours' rate relates to additional hours performed for work under a particular job reference number. If other work is later booked which is unrelated to the original job, then the initial hour rate will again apply to that new job.
Inspection/EICR workPlease contact us for an quote as the price will vary on the amount of circuits that require testing, and their setting (domestic, commercial etc).
Appliance testingFormally know as P.A.T but now under the name of In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment is charged at normally hourly rate, we used to price per item, however we decided to move to an hourly pricing system in 2023. As a rough guide, one-person can test approximately 100+ items per 7.5 hour day, however this varies dependant on the items and if repair are carried out on any items that fail.
Important notesWe charge an average hourly rate vs current market, some others may be cheaper or more expensive, we will never charge you for anything that you dont need or we dont use*. When it comes to fault-finding we have been previously accused of finding the fault "too-quickly" and the customer being charged the full first hour call-out fee, on fault-finding and emergency jobs you are paying for the resolution of an issue and a desired outcome, if it takes us ten minutes or fifty minutes, the charge will still be the minimum of one hour at the relevant rate.
We're not here to 'rip you off' or 'pull your pants down', we offer professional persepctive through years of training and knowledge, we may reccomend improvements to your current electrical system but we will never for example say that your house needs a full re-wire to bulk up our work and profits, unless it's unsafe and potentially harmfull.
whats the * for? eh?We stated that we wont charge you for something we dont use, this does not apply to items that have been specially ordered and are unable to be returned to out wholsalers, for example if we install a SWA armoured cable and we order 20 meters and we only needed 17 meters, you will be charged for the amount ordered. When ordering items like this we make every effort to be as accurate as possible however we would rather have 3 meters to much than be one meter short.
