Warranty/Guarentee

At BD Electrical Services, We take pride in delivering electrical installation work designed to last for decades, using high-quality components that meet British and European standards. All installations are carried out in accordance with BS7671 and relevant building regulations. For your peace of mind, I offer a two-year goodwill guarantee as standard. In the unlikely event of an issue, I will resolve it swiftly and without hassle.

DETAILS

What is covered?

All parts and installation methods provided by BD Electrical Services. as part of the agreed scope of work.

What is not covered?

Consumables such as incandescent bulbs, flex cords, or any parts not sourced through BD Electrical Services.

Example:

If we install a new lighting circuit in an extension and fit a ceiling light you have purchased elsewhere, my guarantee will cover the wiring, switch, circuit breaker, and materials. However, the light fixture you provided and consumable items like lamps/ bulbs would not be included.

Consumables

While consumables are not covered by my guarantee, any such items provided by BD Electrical Services will carry the manufacturer's warranty. These parts should have a reasonable lifespan based on their cost, the manufacturer’s claims, and their usage. For example, if I supply energy-efficient bulbs for your living room and they fail within six months, you can request replacements at no charge. I will return the faulty units to the manufacturer with feedback on their performance.

Wear and Tear, Accidental, or Malicious Damage

The guarantee does not cover normal wear and tear, accidental damage, or malicious damage. For instance, if a nail punctures a cable above a socket outlet or if a light fitting is damaged through misuse, repairs will be charged at the standard rate.

Intruder Alarms, Fire alarms and CCTV

While my guarantee covers the installation and supplied equipment for alarm and CCTV systems, BD Electrical Services is not liable for any loss, injury, or damage resulting from malfunction, failure, or deliberate disarming of the equipment. These systems are designed as deterrents, not fail-safes.

Post-Completion Alterations

The final positioning of accessories and wiring is agreed upon before work begins. If no specific guidance is given, I will use my judgment to ensure the best placement within the room or location, following applicable building regulations. Any changes requested after completion, such as moving a light switch, will be treated as a new job, charged separately. The new work will also be guaranteed for 24 months from the date of the invoice.

MAKING A CLAIM

To make a claim under my guarantee, simply contact me. I aim to investigate any issues within 7 days (or 24 hours for urgent matters affecting heating or hot water). Any required work under the guarantee will be prioritized and scheduled as soon as possible.

If you have any questions about your guarantee or its coverage, feel free to ask. My guarantee is based on common sense and customer satisfaction, with no hidden terms. If I supplied, fitted, and certified it, then it should be covered.

Not Satisfied?

If you’re not happy, I’m not happy. Let’s discuss and resolve the issue. While I have a formal complaints procedure, my goal is to ensure you never need to use it.

IMPORTANT NOTES

Two-Year Guarantee: This guarantee applies only if the related invoice is paid in full within seven days of issue. After seven days, a 12-month parts-only guarantee applies. No guarantee is available if payment is not received in full.

Your statutory rights are not affected. I reserve the right to make clarifications or changes to my guarantee, but not to the detriment of completed work. This guarantee is not insurance-backed but is a commitment to addressing any concerns with services or goods provided by BD Electrical Services.
