All work, whether scheduled or ad-hoc, shall adhere to the terms and conditions outlined below, unless mutually agreed upon otherwise in writing. A detailed scope of work will be provided for larger, complex, or planned projects, specifying the particulars of each job.
Lighting Alterations:
- All alterations to lighting systems will be conducted with the understanding that standard fixtures, unless otherwise specified, are non-dimmable.
- The quantity and placement of downlights in a room will be determined by factors such as room dimensions, structural layout, and intended furniture arrangement.
- Downlights will typically utilize fire-rated GU10 LED models with options for white or polished/brushed chrome finishes and warm or cool white lamps. Samples can be provided for approval.
- Dimming options, where requested, will necessitate specialized LED dimmer switches.
- Clients are responsible for sourcing decorative or feature lighting fixtures to match personal preferences. Assistance can be provided, but costs for such items are not included unless specified otherwise.
- Clients should inspect sourced or supplied lighting fixtures for damage or missing parts, as we cannot be held liable for items found to be defective upon unpacking.
- If new lighting fixtures lack bulbs, compatible LED lamps can be supplied, though costs for these are not included unless stated otherwise.
Television Services:
- TV services are presumed to be Freeview unless otherwise indicated.
- Additional TV points will typically utilize existing working aerials, though additional boosting or distribution may be necessary.
- Unsuitable or absent aerials or satellite dishes may require secondary work or specialist fitters.
Bathrooms:
- Heated towel rails are assumed to operate via the central heating system unless stated otherwise.
- Bathroom lighting must adhere to IP rating regulations if the ceiling is below a specified height, otherwise, non-IP rated fixtures may be installed.
- Extractor fans will be selected from reputable brands such as Xpelair/Vent Axia.
- Each extractor fan will have a dedicated fused isolator installed for safety.
Undercupboard Lighting:
- Undercupboard lighting will typically operate in conjunction with overhead lighting, utilizing low-voltage LED drivers for safety.
- LED strip tape will be utilized, customizable to fit specific dimensions and matching the room’s existing lighting.
Decorative:
- Construction modifications may be necessary to accommodate wiring routes, potentially resulting in minor plaster or paint damage.
- Efforts will be made to minimize dust and debris, though clients are advised to remove or protect sensitive items before work commences.
- Basic cleaning will be conducted post-work, but additional cleaning, especially of food preparation areas, is recommended.
Final Accessories:
- Standard accessories such as light switches will typically feature a white plastic finish, though decorative options are available at an additional cost.
- Clients must inspect accessories sourced from external parties for completeness and damage upon receipt.
Site Specific:
- The term “outlets” refers to standard twin socket outlets unless otherwise specified. Non-standard locations or specialized outlets will be explicitly listed in the scope of work.
- Attic access is assumed to be unobstructed and safe for work, though additional time may be required if conditions differ.
- Furniture should be cleared to allow for easy access; any necessary movement of furniture is at the client’s risk.
- Existing electrical installations are presumed to be fault-free; any issues discovered during work will be communicated to the client for resolution.
Other Trades:
- It is advisable to schedule electrical work when other trades are not present to minimize logistical challenges.
- If collaborating with other trades, it is assumed they are properly insured and conduct themselves professionally.
- Projects involving multiple days must designate a project manager to communicate scheduling updates.
Smart-Home Systems:
- Long-term functionality and compatibility of smart-home solutions are not guaranteed beyond the initial installation.
- Ongoing technical support for smart-home equipment not supplied by us is not provided.
Miscellaneous:
- Variations to the scope of work may affect pricing and will be communicated accordingly.
- Material costs can be itemized on invoices for transparency.
- Working days are based on 7.5 hours, inclusive of planning and administrative tasks.
- Additional charges may apply for work outside the HD/S36 postcode area.
- Estimates are valid for 14 days.
- The physical installation may be carried out by our employees or approved subcontractors.
- Emergency work may involve temporary measures until a permanent solution can be implemented.
- Clients are responsible for ensuring important systems remain operational during and after works.
Payment:
- A deposit of 10% is requested to secure your booking with us for single day jobs
- A deposit of 30% may be requested for large scale works (over £1000.00) and rewires, we will work out a staged payment system with you on these works.
- Invoices are payable upon presentation, with staged payments for larger projects.
- Warranty coverage is contingent upon full payment of invoices.
- Invoices can be settled via BACS, cash, or credit/debit card via our secure online portal.
Staged Work:
- Jobs may be divided into stages, with each stage invoiced upon completion.
Certification:
- Relevant certification will be provided upon completion of notifiable work.
- Certificates may be invalidated if associated invoices are not paid in full.
Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM) 2015:
- Work complies with CDM 2015, with a Construction Phase Plan provided before commencement.
Data Protection (EU GDPR regulations):
- Client information is securely stored and can be accessed or deleted upon request.
Recycling and Disposal:
- We are licensed waste carriers and responsible for the environmentally sound disposal of recyclable materials.
- Non-recyclable waste is left on-site for responsible disposal by the client.
Cancellation Rights:
- Clients may cancel a job at any time, though cancellation fees may apply if work has commenced or specialized materials have been ordered.
Warranty:
- Workmanship and non-consumable materials are covered by a 24-month guarantee.
- Claims under the guarantee must be made promptly, and invoices must be settled in full for coverage.
- Tamper seals, if present, will void the guarantee if broken.
Complaints and Alternative Dispute Resolution:
- Complaints should be addressed through our internal procedure, with the option for third-party resolution if necessary.
Refund Policy:
- Our refund policy is available for review upon request.
Updates to Terms and Conditions:
- Terms and conditions may be updated without notice, though alterations will not affect ongoing projects unless explicitly stated.
